I always thought the Eyeshades were called Factory Pilots. Apparently just the lense was the Factory Pilot. Great listing of Oakley's designs over the years can be found here. I've been the owner of more than a few pairs... but was always more partial to Bolle's for racing during the late 80's and early 90's, as that's what Brian Walton wore in the 1989 Milk Race... oh yeah... There's one from the vault for you...

Yeah that’s fair enough… If that’s the case I think the only date that seems off is 1983… I don’t remember seeing anyone use Oakley in cycling before Greg Lemond in 1985. ‘Course, that doesn’t mean they didn’t exist then, they just weren’t a cycling fad.

You gotta love those pics, though. They are classic and great!
